If this card is in your hand: You can reveal 1 "Photon" monster in your hand; Special Summon this card, and if you do, its Level becomes the Level of that "Photon" monster. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 "Galaxy" monster in your GY; this card's ATK/DEF become that monster's ATK/DEF. You can only use each effect of "Galaxy Brave" once per turn.
Galaxy Brave — Power Evaluation
Final Score: 58 ± 6 · Confidence: Medium
- Intrinsic: 55 · Deck: 60 · Meta: provisional
- Primary role: Starter / Combo enabler · Secondary: Material body / Normal
Why it scores here
Galaxy Brave's value is its hand effect: a Photon in hand lets it Special Summon itself and set its Level to that Photon's Level, so it converts a hand card into a Level 8 body with a flexible level. Its GY effect only copies ATK/DEF from a Galaxy monster, which adds little. Its 0 base ATK/DEF earned no points, and high deck inclusion (400 of 400 decks, 100% co-occurrence with Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon) confirms it is reliably played but does not by itself raise the score. With no combo evidence, combo conversion remains text-only inference, which caps confidence at Medium.
Axis scores
| Axis | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Accessibility | 70 | Live from hand whenever a Photon monster is also in hand, and present in 400 of 400 recent decks (verified; the Photon-in-hand condition is conditional, so not 100). |
| Combo & Conversion | 35 | Text-only inference: a Special Summon plus a Level set, with no recorded board, power_index or starter data to confirm what it builds (inferred). |
| Resource Economy | 45 | No card advantage or GY refuel; the hand Special Summon costs no card but returns nothing extra (verified from text, inferred for net value). |
| Effect & Interaction | 5 | No negation, removal or hand-trap reach in its text (verified). |
| Material Utility | 60 | Level 8 LIGHT Warrior whose Level can be set to a Photon's Level, which fits Photon Synchro and Xyz routes; still usable as a level-8 body if the effect is negated (inferred from text). |
| Resilience & Flexibility | 45 | Two once-per-turn effects in hand and GY; one negate on the hand effect removes the Level change and the Special Summon (verified from text, inferred for impact). |
| Deck-Building Efficiency | 70 | Average 1.33 copies (max 2) across 400 decks, no garnet or lock text, and legal in TCG, OCG and MasterDuel (observed; the banlist is assumed unlimited). |
Calculation
Weight profile: 0.7 Starter / Combo enabler + 0.3 Material body / Normal. Intrinsic ≈ 55, Deck ≈ 60, Meta = provisional. Modifiers: none. Final formula: 0.40*Intrinsic + 0.60*Deck
Strengths
- Hand Special Summon that also sets its Level to a Photon's Level, so it adapts to Photon Synchro and Xyz routes
- Present in all 400 sampled decks, spanning 22 archetypes, with 100% co-occurrence with Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
- Cheap to run: 1.33 average copies, no garnet or lock text
Weaknesses
- Its hand effect needs a Photon monster in hand, so it is not live in every hand
- No combo or starter evidence, so its conversion value is unmeasured
- Base 0 ATK/DEF and a single hand-based effect give little value on the board
- Both effects are once per turn, which limits repeated use
Counters / choke points
- Negating the hand effect removes both the Special Summon and the Level set (inferred from text)
Best use
Hand starter and level setter in Photon / Galaxy shells. Decks: Galaxy Photon (570), Galaxy Photon (378), Galaxy-Eyes, Cipher, Tachyon.
Evidence & gaps
- Verified: Hand effect: reveal a Photon, Special Summon this card, and its Level becomes that Photon's Level; GY effect: target a Galaxy monster in GY to copy its ATK/DEF; each effect once per turn; Present in 400 of 400 decks, average 1.33 copies, max 2; Legal in TCG, OCG and MasterDuel
- Observed: 22 distinct archetypes in the deck sample; Co-occurs with Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon in 100% of decks; Gameplay type 7 accounts for 76.2% of decks; Listed in the Core section of guide 307
- Inferred: Acts as a hand starter for the Photon engine; Level-set body is usable as Synchro/Xyz material; Negating the hand effect removes the Special Summon and the Level set
- Data gaps: no combos supplied: combo conversion is text-only inference no banlist token: assumed 3 copies (unlimited) no usage statistics (StatisticsCard): inclusion % inferred from the deck sample only no ruling or timing data beyond the card text no starter-count data, so DeckResilience relies on archetype spread
